Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt

Build the proof. Earn the credential. Change the outcome.

Applied basics with a difference: you do not sit an exam to prove you understand Lean Six Sigma — you build a 20-artefact Proof Portfolio on a real problem you chose, and finish with a Mini-A3 you can open in front of any employer. The portfolio is the certification evidence.

Who it's for

Students, early-career professionals, SME operators, office and administrative staff, and entrepreneurs. No prior Lean or statistics knowledge is required — every concept is taught across three real-world contexts: formal SME, office / admin, and informal / entrepreneurial.

What you'll master

1

Run a full DMAIC cycle on a real process in your own workplace or community.

2

Assemble a Proof Portfolio of 20 structured artefacts — from charter to control plan.

3

Turn Voice of Customer into Critical-to-Quality requirements you can measure.

4

Map processes with SIPOC and swimlanes to expose waste and bottlenecks.

5

Visualise performance with check sheets, Pareto charts and simple statistics.

6

Find and verify root causes with fishbone diagrams, 5-Whys and stratification.

7

Sustain gains with control plans, KPI dashboards and daily-management routines.

8

Replace every vague claim with documented, quantified before-and-after proof.

The curriculum

Module 0 — FoundationsYellow Belt scope, the DMAIC overview and the Proof-Portfolio mindset: Claim vs. Proof.
Module 1 — DefineVOC, CTQ trees, problem & goal statements, scope, SIPOC, RACI, and a one-page Project Charter.
Module 2 — MeasureData collection plans, check sheets, baseline performance and descriptive statistics.
Module 3 — AnalyzePareto, fishbone, 5-Whys and stratification to isolate verified root causes.
Module 4 — ImproveEffort–impact matrices, 5S, standard work and PDCA to design and test solutions.
Module 5 — ControlControl plans, response plans, KPI dashboards and the capstone Mini-A3.

You'll walk away with

A 20-artefact Proof Portfolio applied to a real problem

A capstone Mini-A3 — the single-page story you bring to interviews and appraisals

Assessment

Portfolio-based. The 20 artefacts, locked in phase by phase across DMAIC, are the evidence, supported by short concept checks. Passing standard is a complete, quality-assessed portfolio.
